Each team of athletes participating in a team sport can use the special coaches provided by the Organizing Committee for competitions, training or official activities.

The Organizing Committee will provide extra officials with shuttle services between the Universiade Village and their accommodations.

The drivers providing the above services are all professional. Every driver will have communication devices.

II.Classification of Transportation Services

1.Transportation for Arrivals and Departures of Delegations

From August 5 to 26, 2011, the Organizing Committee will provide shuttle services between the Universiade Village and Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport and Hong Kong International Airport for the arrivals and departures of delegations.

2.Transportation for Those Attending the Opening and Closing Ceremonies

•On the days of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies, the Organizing Committee will provide shuttle services for athletes and team officials between the Universiade Village and the venues for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies.

•On the day of the Opening Ceremony, the shuttle service for training will stop at 13:00. On the day of the Closing Ceremony, athletes whose competitions finish late can take shuttle buses directly from the competition venue to the Closing Ceremony venue.

•Athletes and team officials of each delegation participating in the Opening and Closing Ceremonies will take special buses from the Universiade Village to the sites for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies.

•After the end of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies, members of each delegation will take buses at the designated pick-up point to return to the Universiade Village.

•Each delegation will be informed in advance about the specific bus arrangements, the departure time, the pick-up point, and other information related to the transportation services for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies.

3.Transportation for Non-Team Sports Training

The services will be offered from the opening of the Universiade Village to the closing of the training venues.

For sports requiring training reservations, the shuttle bus schedule will be prepared according to the confirmed reservations. For the sports that don’t require reservations in advance, shuttle buses will be offered on a regular basis. Buses will be provided between the Shuttle Bus Station of the Universiade Village and the training venues according to the pre-determined schedule. The buses will also transport the athletes’ luggage and equipment to the venues. In principle, shuttle buses will run every day from one hour before the opening of the training venues to one hour after the closing of the venues. Athletes should board such buses at the Shuttle Bus Station of the Universiade Village.

If a non-team sport uses one venue for both training and competition, the buses for the competition will also be used for the training.

4.Transportation for Non-Team Sports Competitions

The services will be offered from August 11 to the end of the competitions.

The shuttle buses between the Universiade Village and competition venues will be provided according to the competition schedules and the information updates. The buses will also transport the athletes’ luggage and equipment to the venues.

The competition buses will run from 3 hours before the start of a competition to 3 hours after the end of the competition (subject to any adjustments in accordance with the requirements of different events). Athletes should board the buses at the Shuttle Bus Station of the Universiade Village.

When athletes need to leave a venue late because of doping tests, a press conference or other special reasons, the venue competition team will designate a liaison person to notify the transportation service team of the number of late passengers and their departure time(s). The transportation service team will arrange for the necessary vehicles to ensure the safe return of the athletes to the Universiade Village.

If an athlete needs to go to the Main Press Center to attend a press conference or other official activities after a competition, he/she can use the special vehicle for his/her delegation.

If a competition has special demands or requirements, the necessary shuttle services will be provided between the venues.

5. Transportation for Team Sports

The Organizing Committee will provide a special vehicle for each team participating in a team sport for the competitions, training, and other official activities. Such buses will also be used to take the athletes to the venues so that they can see the competitions of their own sport. Delegations will need to
confirm the use of such vehicles 24 hours in advance at the transportation service desk in the Universiade Village.

When all the team sports competitions have been completed, the transportation services for team sports will immediately be terminated.

6. Transportation for Athletes as Spectators

This service will be offered from August 11 to the end of competitions.

For athletes who want to watch the competitions of other sports, the Organizing Committee will provide shuttle buses between the Universiade Village and the relevant venues.

Such buses will stop at the special drop-off/pick-up areas, and athletes will need tickets for the specific competitions.

Athletes who want to watch competitions of their own sport might be allowed to take the special buses to the competition venues, if seats are available. Athletes participating in the competitions will have priority in taking such buses. Team sports athletes can take the vehicles for team sports to travel to the venues to watch the competitions of their own sport.

Shuttle buses to watch the competitions will be provided in accordance with the events of Competition Schedule. In principle, no back-and-forth shuttle buses will be arranged for participants to watch the competitions.
