Student reporters talk with city leaders
On the afternoon of August 13, Member of the Standing Committee of Shenzhen Municipal Party Committee and Executive Vice Shenzhen Mayor Lu Ruifeng, Deputy Secretary-General of Shenzhen Municipal Government and Managing Deputy Director of the Executive Office Huang Guoqiang, and Director of Shenzhen Network Culture Construction and Management Office Li Ruiqi had a gracious talk with many candidate student reporters from Tsinghua University, Fudan University and Zhongshan University, on the forthcoming Shenzhen Universiade.
After the trainee journalists’ brief introduction, Executive President of Chinese University Media Alliance and Editor of Tsinghua University newspaper “Qinxin Times” Li Yanxi chaired the conversazione. Lu Ruifeng first briefed the student trainee journalists the history of Shenzhen city and the significance of hosting the Universiade. He also wished those university students to study and work in Shenzhen if possible.
Afterwards, they exchanged opinions on issues like how to keep a sustainable development in Shenzhen, how to attract talents, and how to coordinate the relationship between venue building and citizens’ life. When answering questions patiently, Lu Ruifeng pointed out, although Shenzhen is a young city which lacks natural resources, it has been attracting numerous talents with the support of government policies. Since the preparations began, the Universiade venues have been constructed without bothering citizens but in the service of them. “Hosting the Games to show up a new Shenzhen” is our principle, he added.
As told, 100 excellent trainee journalists of the 150 “registered university candidate student reporters for the 2011 Shenzhen Universiade” can be officially the “registered university student reporters for the 2011 Universiade, who will cover the Universiade to be held in August, 2011, Shenzhen.
