Soccer Matches of the 26th Universiade in 2011

I. Matches Time:

Men’s events: August 11, August 13, August 15, ASoccerugust 17, August 19 and August 22, 2011

Women’s event: August 11, August 13, August 15, August 17, August 19 and August 21, 2011

II. Competition Venues:

Shenzhen Stadium, Shenzhen Bao’an District Stadium, Sport Centre Stadium of Shenzhen University Town, Ground Track Field in Shenzhen University, Stadium in Shenzhen Polytechnic, Xixiang Sport Center in Bao’an district of Shenzhen, Shenzhen Bay Sport Center Stadium, and Stadium Once of Shenzhen Sport School

Men’s finals: Shenzhen Stadium

Women’s finals: Shenzhen Bao’an District Stadium

III. Event Introduction:

The playing field must be a rectangle. The length of the sideline must be longer than that of the goal line. According to the standard of the international game, the length shall be 105m and the width shall be 68m.

Soccer game is split into two halves of 45 minutes each. The chief referee will decide the injury time according to these situations like player replacement, injury treatment and player off the pitch due to injury. 15 minutes break at halftime is provided. Each team is allowed to send 11 players, including 1 goalkeeper. The game is unable to start if one team only has 7 players or less. For the formal international soccer game, only 3 substitutes are available for each game. A goal is scored when the whole ball passes over the goal line. The team which scores the most goals wins the game and the game ends in a tie when both teams score the same goals. During the elimination game, if both teams score the same goals within 90 minutes, the game will go into overtime. If the tie fails to be broken during overtime, penalty kick will be required.
