July 3 local time, the Shenzhen delegation inspected Belgrade’s Universiade Village and some competition venues, and later, had a talk with the executive board for the Belgrade Universiade. The report was told that Shenzhen has higher market developing level than the Belgrade Universiade, and is expected to top all previous games.
It was said that Belgrade Universiade met with unprecedented trouble in market developing. The Organizing Committee had promised to hold the games with 400 million Euros, which actually came out with just 40 million Euros, because of the worldwide financial crisis. Some of the 14 signatory sponsors cut more than 70% of planned investment in Serbia, which resulted in only 10 million Euros cash patronage for the Belgrade Universiade.
Compared to Belgrade, it is estimated that Shenzhen has potential marketing value of nearly 3 billion yuan RMB. So far, the Shenzhen Universiade has developed market value of 700 million, which has already exceeded that of the Belgrade Universiade. The sponsors are expected to be more than 20 this year and at least 30 in 2011. With the promising marketing value of over 1.5 billion yuan RMB, Shenzhen Universiade is expected to be the most market developing one in the Universiade history.
