First of all, abiding by FISU standing rules and being totally under the guidance of the FISU’s Technical Committee, Shen Zhen makes sure all 63 venues for competition and training meet the International Competition Venue Standard A. The second, Shenzhen is making every effort to bring forth new ideas, providing a most impressive Universiade with unique Universiade logo, slogans and mascot. The third, in order to attract to the utmost extent university students across the world into the Universiade, Shenzhen Universiade will have 11 optional sports programs besides the FISU-designated 10 compulsory sports, as they are popular among university students around the world. Those optional sports include shooting, golf, badminton, sailing and surfing. “The Shenzhen Universiade’s organization work, whether venues or volunteers, never worries me. In addition, their keynote speech of each time brings into fresh air and always satisfies me,” said Mr. Killian, adding that it is one of the most judicious Decisions of FISU to choose Shenzhen as the hosting city of the 2011 Summer Universiade.
