Shenzhen wants advice from Asiade reporters

On the construction sites of the Universiade main venues, November 22, there came a group of specials guests —— eighty reporters from inland and Hong Kong media like Xinhua News Agency, China Radio International, Workers Daily, Xinjiang Daily, Hubei Daily, Inner Mongolia Daily and Hong Kong Oriental Morning Post, together with foreign reporters from Australia, Sri Lanka, India and Mongolia, who were now working at the Asian Games. They were invited by the Universiade Executive Office to deliver advice and suggestions for the future Universiade.

According to a leader of the Executive Office Media and Communications Department, as it is only 263 – day countdown to the Universiade, the “Asian Games reporters’ trip to Shenzhen”, which embodies the Shenzhen Universiade notion of “a sea takes in hundreds of rivers”, was launched for the purpose of learning from valuable experience with major domestic and international events including Olympics and Asian Games. Only in this way, Shenzhen can be committed to its promise to the world: to stage a “more successful, more exciting, and more influential Universiade”.

Asiade journalists invited to Shenzhen are all professional sports journalists with long – period working experience covering international events. The Executive Office hoped that they can share their experiences at the current Asian Games, especially how they feel about media services and media operations. Their advice and suggestions will also be cherished, in order that the Executive Office will provide better services to the journalists both home and abroad at the Universiade.

That same day, the journalists paid a visit to the Universiade main venues as well as the Main Media Center (MMC). And they had a rap session with the leaders of the Executive Office and the Media and Communications Department.
