Zhang Wen investigates arrival and departure service preparations

As there will be over 10,000 persons including athletes, sports technical representatives, team officials and media reporters from more than 100 countries and regions coming to the Shenzhen 2011 Universiade, high – quality arrival and departure services are bound to be their “first sight” and “lasting impression” of the city. On the morning of November 1, Vice Shenzhen Mayor Zhang Wen performed an investigation at Shenzhen Bay Port on equipment reconstruction and customs clearance. Deputy Secretary-General of Shenzhen Municipal Government and Managing Deputy Director of the Universiade Executive Office Huang Guoqiang and leaders of Shenzhen Customs, Shenzhen Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, Shenzhen General Station of Exit and Entry Frontier Inspection, Shenzhen Port Office, Shenzhen Development and Reform Commission, Shenzhen Financial Committee, Shenzhen Urban Administrative Bureau, Shenzhen Foreign Affairs Office, General Office of Shenzhen Municipal Government and respective departments of the Universiade Executive Office attended the investigation.
Zhang Wen confided, currently, the Universiade preparations have been proceeding smoothly. With the Games approaching, all units should well coordinate and direct the preparatory work, learning from the experience with the Beijing Olympics and Guangzhou Asian Games. He hoped that examination and bidding of all the projects can be done by the end of this year, to ensure arrival and departure services for the future Universiade.
As told, as an entry and exit land border via Hong Kong with a daily flow of 60,000 passengers, Shenzhen Bay Port will welcome even larger cross – border flow. Port services, which are an important part in the Universiade preparations, have drawn attention from both the Shenzhen Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government and the Shenzhen Port Office. And relative equipment reconstruction at the port has been started.
