Universiade Village opening scheduled
Dec 27, Deputy Secretary of Shenzhen Municipal Party Committee and Secretary of Political and Legislative Affairs Committee of the Municipal Party Committee Wang Suiming presided the first meeting of the Universiade Village Ministers Committee (hereinafter “the Village Ministers Committee”) for the 26th Summer Universiade at the meeting room of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Party Committee. Vice Shenzhen Mayors Zhang Wen and Wu Yihuan, Vice President of the Universiade Executive Committee and Director-general of the Executive Office Liang Daoxing, all the Vice Ministers, Vice Executive Ministers and people in chare of 24 Universiade Village Committee member units attended the meeting.
The Universiade Village into overall venueization
Vice President of the Universiade Executive Committee and Director-general of the Executive Office Liang Daoxing made an introduction of the games – time leading body of the Village. According to him, when the Village comes into an overall venueization in 2011, the former Village Ministers Committee and the Village Preparation Leading Group are going to be combined and named the “Village Ministers Committee”. And it is the Village Ministers Committee who will perform the games – time duties in the Village. Besides, the meeting examined and adopted the name list of the Village Ministers Committee.
The Universiade Village into official operation on August 1, 2011
Deputy Director of the Universiade Executive Office Liu Pingsheng detailed the organizational structure of the Village Committee, division of labor and responsibilities among members, time schedule and working teams’ building. The Universiade Village Administration Department of the Executive Office, Shenzhen Public Works Bureau and Shenzhen Public Security Bureau briefed their respective Universiade preparations at the meeting. The meeting passed the “fact sheet on the Universiade Village accommodation” and the “overall pattern of the Universiade Village games – time operation”. As told, the Universiade Village vows to provide the make – guests – feel – at – home services, for example, in the starred – hotel lodging services, athletes can have high – standard room equipments including hold pillows and comfortable beds; in the polyclinic, they can get Massage & Therapists, and acupuncture & moxibustion; in the leisure time, they can attend various cultural activities. Apart from the supermarkets, there are cafeterias, water bars, Internet cafes, licensed product franchise shops, post offices, barber’s and places for exchanging souvenirs inside the Village. Reportedly, photos of model dorm rooms are going to be released soon on the Universiade official website (www. sz2011. org) and online reserve system is set to start.
