State ministries to help Universiade IPR
In order to launch the nationwide intellectual property protection campaign for the Shenzhen Universiade, the staff of the Universiade Executive Office Legal Affairs Department came to Beijing on December 16, calling on the State Administration for Industry and Commerce (CTMO), State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) and then – time Legal Affairs Department of Beijing Organizing Committee for the Olympic Games (BOCOG) and having a talk with them on enacting state laws, statutes or documents of intellectual property protection for the 26th Shenzhen Universiade.
Chiefs of the Legal Affairs Department briefed the CTMO and SIPO on right conditions of the Universiade icons and the present status of intellectual property protection. They earnestly requested the CTMO and SIPO to formulate relevant regulations to urge the Industry and commerce departments and patent departments across the country to carry on the Universiade intellectual property protection actively, and thus create a sound environment for the Universiade intellectual property protection.
Leaders of the CTMO and SIPO lauded the Executive Office for its work on the Universiade intellectual property protection, and then expressed that they will be highly supportive of it. Soon they are going to make an investigation at the Executive Office together with respective units of Guangdong province and Shenzhen city and study and draw up relevant regulations.
