Pledging ceremony held at Shenzhen Power Supply Bureau


 



 


 


 

On August 12, the 365 countdown to the Universiade, a pledging ceremony was held at Shenzhen Power Supply Bureau. “Going all out to ensure the Universiade power supply” is the pledge which is made by constructers working on the project of 220 kilo volt substation in Longgang. Apart from the pledging ceremony, Shenzhen Power Supply Bureau carried out a training exercise of the Universiade power supply and a capping ceremony of the 220 KV substation to serve at the main venues for the future Universiade that day. Vice Shenzhen Mayor Yuan Baocheng, Director of Construction Department of Southern Power Grid Company Xu Daming, Director of Shenzhen Power Supply Bureau Jin Jimin, Secretary of Party Committee Jia Zhenwang, Deputy Director of the Universiade Executive Office Ke Gangming, Longgang District Commissioner Zhang Bei, and Deputy District Commissioner Xiong Xiaoping attended the ceremony.

First, Shenzhen Power Supply Bureau leaders briefed on the construction progress of major projects for the Universiade power supply, as well deployed work on the project construction of next stage. On behalf of the Executive Office of the Universiade Organizing Committee, Deputy Director Ke Gangming expressed gratitude to power supply departments and its working staff for their endeavor and achievements in the Universiade preparations. He hoped, in the next year, Shenzhen Power Supply Bureau can speed up the construction of major transformation projects for the Universiade, and strengthen the grid equipment maintenance. Assisting and guiding venues with equipment inspection and reconstruction is also very important, to ensure the electricity supply at Universiade venues in the games time. Yuan Baocheng commented, Southern Power Grid Company, Guangdong Power Grid Company, and Shenzhen Power Supply Bureau have been working very hard in the Universiade preparations of the past two years. He hoped they will still make an all – out effort to supply the electricity timely and safely in 2010. Director Jin Jimin demanded, all working staff should make persistent efforts and improvement to expedite the Universiade projects, helping the city stage a “most exciting, spectacular and impressive” Universiade.

As told, the Universiade games time is also the peak power period in summer of Shenzhen. The electricity might be in short supply in the whole city, as the 66 training and competition venues, 27 official hotels, 4 appointed hospitals, the Universiade Village, the Main Press Center (MPC) and other assorted facilities will be supported with electricity.
