As food security is a main job for the Universiade food and beverage service, the food security control for the Universiade to be held is set to begin with the farm produce supply bases, following a process control system of “from the farmland to the table”.
From July 1 to 3, led by the full – time Deputy Director of the Universiade Executive Office Ke Gangming, a delegation made up of persons including respective departments of the Executive Office, Shenzhen Agriculture and Fishery Bureau and experts inspected several agricultural production bases, under the scorching sun. The delegates had a careful inspection on the production process of each production base. Ke Gangming exphasized security control goes first in the food to be provided to the Games, at which by any means, food-borne doping events must not happen to food to be offered to the athletes in particularly. For this end, feed check should be paid great attention to, and breeding and cultivation management as well as transportation safety monitoring should be strengthened in the Universiade farm produce supply bases, to guarantee the Universiade food security.
In accordance with the overall working plan of food and beverage service for the Universiade, and with the examination and verification of the Municipal Legislation Office, the Universiade Executive Office released the “determination and management measures of agricultural production and supply bases for the Shenzhen Universiade”, working together with Shenzhen Agriculture and Fishery Bureau. According to that, fifteen enterprises (five meat, poultry and eggs bases, three marine product bases, six vegetable bases, and one fruit base included) have been chosen in the primary, and the first batch of Universiade farm produce supply bases will come out of them after the inspection hopefully.
