July 12: The 26th Universiade Executive Bidding Committee is set up in Shenzhen.
July 28: Shenzhen unveils the logo for its Universiade 2011 at a press conference.
July 31: A press conference is held to announce Shenzhen teacher Lin Mingwei’s plan to cycle across Australia seeking support for Shenzhen’s bid.
Dec. 23: World-famous young pianist Lang Lang holds a massive music concert in support of the bid.

May 22: Shenzhen unveils its motto for the bidding campaign “Shenzhen Embraces the World.”
July 10: Lin Mingwei embarks on a cycling tour across Europe in support of the bid.
