On behalf of Shenzhen City and the 26th Shenzhen Summer Universiade, the ship “Shenzhen Universiade”, which is coxed by a senior captain and led by a CEO skipper of China Cup International Regatta, is starting sailing again at the Regatta Around Hainan Island. At the five – day regatta, they will travel to five cities in Hainan Province, covering over 1,000 km coastline.
Fifteen fleets from China, Britain, America, and China Hong Kong are going to compete in the sailing events, each team with rich sailing and competing experience. The “Shenzhen Universiade” boasts a top fleet among them, with the following shipmen: Captain Rick Pointon, CEO of Beijing Sailing Center Club, who took part in several international Regattas; Assistant Captain Alfie Rowson, who won in the British University Sailing Championships; Skipper Zhongyong, CEO skipper of China Cup International Regatta, who helped the “Shenzhen Universiade” to take the lead at sailing events such as the Thai King Cup, the Mayor Cup, and China-Japan-Korea Regatta. All the others are sailors who participated in China Cup International Regatta, and China-Japan-Korea Regatta. With rich experience, the “Shenzhen Universiade” is expected to win again in the coming events.
For the 26th Shenzhen Universiade, via the sea, the “Shenzhen Universiade” is going to express welcome and send an invitation to the world, hoping to show up the host city’s youth, confidence, vigor and passion.
