More buses for holiday makers

ALL bus operators that have routes to Dameisha in the city’s east have been ordered to add buses and extend service hours to meet the need of holidaymakers during the National Day holidays.

Routes No. 85 and 202 operating in downtown Yantian District will extend services to Dameisha to divert passengers returning to Luohu and Futian during the peak hours of 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., a Shenzhen transport authorities release said yesterday.

From Oct. 1 to 8, all bus routes in the city, especially those passing tourist spots and business centers, will add buses and extend service hours to satisfy residents’ needs during the holidays.

The transport authorities will open six holiday shuttle bus routes to the city’s east and Bao’an tourist attractions from Oct. 1 to 4.

Of the three routes to the east, two routes will start at the Futian Transport Hub and Meilin Checkpoint and run to the OCT East. All the buses will operate until midnight.

The two holiday routes to Fenghuangshan in Bao’an District will operate 12 hours a day from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. One will start at the Fuyong Bridge Bus Stop, running along Fuyong Road, Fufeng Road. The other will start at Fenghuang Road via Fengtang Road and Fehuang Industrial Zone. The route from Meilin Checkpoint to grass yard in Guangming, Bao’an will operate between 5:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The city’s three bus groups, Shenzhen Bus Group, East Bus Group and West Bus Group, have 240 buses on standby in case of emergencies.
