The Shenzhen Universiade attracts mainstream media in the world

On the morning, July 27, an interview group made up of over 30 reporters from mainstream media in the world, including the Associated Press, the Reuters, the AFP, the ITAR-TASS, Asahi Shimbun, Japanese Press Service (JPS), Lianhe Zaobao, visited the Universiade Center, Longgang District, Shenzhen, and learned about the venues’ construction for Universiade Shenzhen 2011.

It has been said that in a joint interview activity named “Mainstream Mmedia in the World Watch Guangdong” which is recently organized by the International Communication Office of Guangdong Provincial Committee of the CPC, Shenzhen is the first stop in Guangdong Province and the Universiade Center is the first stop in Shenzhen. When the members of the interview group came to the main stadium of the Universiade Center, Deputy Director of the Shenzhen Maintenance Department Zhang Yawei. who is in charge of the Universiade project, expressed his thanks to visting reporters on the construction site for their concern about the stadium, and later introduced about the Universiade Center, including designing, preparation and construction. It is known that the Universiade Center will be the main venue of the next Universiade, which is designed to to comprise a main stadium with 60,000 seats and its sub venues, a main gym with 18,000 seats and its sub venues, and a natatorium with 3,000 seats. On the desing subject of glittering and translucent rockcrystal,containing a small hill in the east, all the venues will be connected by a man-made lake, which makes prominent the design idea of “Hill, Water, and Rocks”.

During the visiting, attracted by charm of the design idea and integrated planning for the Universiade Center, all members of the interview group was looking forward to the following Summer Universiade and experiencing Shenzhen city’s passion and joyfulness at that time.
