There are large numbers of unversity volunteers from all over the world serving in the Belgrade Universiade, among whom a young man comes from Beijing Foreign Languages University, Serbian language major.
Peng Yuchao, under the nickname Chao, is a homebornCantonese. He is an exchange student from Beijing Foreign Languages University to Croatia, and a graduate student in Grade One this year. Hearing of the Belgrade Universiade, he signed up and become a common volunteer for the 25th Universiade. Serving in the Main Press Center (MPC), He is responsible for contacting all Chinese reporters.
Chao told the reporter, “I am here serving about sixty members of the Chinese press corps. My job is to contact them, and in time inform them when and where the Organizing Committee wil hold the press. In fact, I enjoy the work here, as Serbians like Chinese very much. Although I have learned Serbian language for five years or so, I still feel my Serbian language not proficient enough to carry out my job.” When asked if he knows about the Universiade to be held in Shenzhen 2011, he said, “Yes and I couldn’t care more. My friends in Shenzhen and I are all looking forword to serving as volunteers in the next Universiade, so count us in.”
