On Oct 25, 2005, Alberta delegation led by Mr. Mel Wong, Assistant Deputy Minister of Alberta Ministry of Innovation and Science paid a one day visit to Shenzhen. Among the delegates are Mr. Doug Manley, Assistant Deputy Minister of Western Economic Diversification, Canada, Professor Randy Goebel, CEO of iCORE; Dr. Michael Leung, Vice President, TRLabs Inc.; Mr. Randy Thompson, Chairman of Alberta-California Venture Channels. CATA Shenzhen office was glad to arrange this full day program for this delegation. Mr. Wenjiang Chen, Vice Secretary-General of Shenzhen People’s Government, met with Alberta delegation in the City Hall. He warmly welcomed the delegation’s visit to Shenzhen and expressed the strong willingness of Shenzhen partnering with Alberta in the field of energy and hi-tech industry to reach a win-win situation. Alberta delegation hosted a luncheon at Four-Point Sheraton Hotel after the meeting. Mr.Lu Yi, Deputy Director General of Shenzhen S&T Bureau as well as business leaders from Telecom and Venture Capital sectors were presented, followed by the seminar of “Venture Capital & Telecommunication in Alberta”.
