On the afternoon of December 9, Vice Shenzhen Mayor Zhang Wen took an investigation at the Universiade Executive Office. Here, he listened to the Universiade preparations progress and had a conversazione with staff of the Executive Office departments. Vice President of the Executive Committee and Director-general of the Universiade Executive Office Liang Daoxing, Deputy Secretary-General of Shenzhen Municipal Government and Managing Deputy Director of the Executive Office Huang Guoqiang, full – time Deputy Directors Zhao Guanghua, Ke Gangming and Liu Pingsheng, Member of Party Leadership Group of the Executive Office and Chief of the Human Resources Department Li Chaoqi, the Executive Office Senior Advisors Li Nansheng and Chen Yuanzhi, Planning Director of large activities Feng Guichun and respective chiefs of the Executive Office departments attended the conversazione.
Liu Pingsheng briefed on the general progress of the Universiade preparations. Liang Daoxing pointed out, as the Universiade is a huge and complex system engineering which involves all aspects, we should go all out to finish all the preparations as scheduled, especially the construction of newly – built venues, renovated venues and temporarily – built venues, and the formulation of venue teams operation projects, the preparatory work of torch relay and the opening and closing ceremonies.
Zhang Wen fully affirmed the Executive Office’s work. He emphasized, under the government’s principle of “hosting the Universiade to show up a new Shenzhen”, we should gear up for the Universiade preparations rapidly and economically. Not only will we upgrade the level of urban construction and city image, but also we will enhance the city’s reputation and influence. Citizens’ civilization, cultural quality, physical quality, and even the whole economy and society are also expected to be developed and improved through the Universiade.
Zhang Wen reiterated that venue construction, events organization and safety preparations need to speed up, timely and with high quality. New moves are welcome in city marketing, large activities and promotions, he added.
