Consuls pay a visit to the Universiade Center
On the morning of August 13, consuls of different countries’ consulates in Guangzhou paid a visit to the Universiade Center, accompanied by the staff of the Universiade Executive Office, consuls coming from nineteen countries such as France, Japan, and Russia and so on. The consuls from different countries seemed to be interested in the Universiade Center being constructed, and be awed with the high speed in building the Universiade venues.
In the company of the Executive Office working staff, consuls were showed the major projects around the Universiade Center: the Main Stadium, the Main Gym and the Aquatic Center. When they toured at the Main Stadium, they couldn’t help but ask some questions and give their opinions on issues like the venue design, venue construction, funding sources, facilities, and venue running after the Games, trying to know further about the Universiade Center.
Alexandre Firman Arif W.Soepalal, Consul of Indonesia consulate in Guangzhou, said he paid the visit for the purpose of learning from the venue construction here, which merits Indonesia reference and study at the 26th Southeast Asian Games to be held in Indonesia, 2011.
“Youthful and dreamful” is the consuls’ impression on the main venues for the Universiade. Meanwhile, they expressed the heartfelt blessings to the upcoming Universiade — “Wish the Universiade Center to complete soon, wish the Shenzhen Universiade the most spectacular.”
