SZ Beach Day delights foreign officials

A DELEGATION of consuls general, vice consuls general, consuls and their families from nearly 20 countries celebrated Beach Day in Shenzhen on Friday.

Among them was G. Michael G. Tsadik, the Ethiopian consul general in Guangzhou, who visited the main Universiade venue in Longgang District with his family on Beach Day which included visits to Universiade venues, tree planting and beach activities. Beach Day is an annual event organized by provincial and municipal foreign affairs offices intended to improve ties between Shenzhen and foreign countries.

They also joined the one-year Universiade countdown celebration Thursday at Shenzhen Stadium in Futian District.

“The stadium is amazing and the design is very different from architecture seen in Ethiopia,” G. Michael said Friday. He was accompanied by his wife Roman Hadgu, daughter Delina and sons Nahom and Kidus.
