Shenzhen boasts more than 300 hotels and restaurants and another 600 guesthouses. At present, Shenzhen has 170 star-level hotels, ranking in the third place among large and medium-size cities nationwide, including 12 five-star-level hotels. It is expected that by 2010 the five-star-level hotels will reach more than 30.
The hotels and restaurants can afford the reception to more than 120,000 guests per day. All star-level hotels are favored with their respective service characteristics, such as, Wuzhou, Nanhai, Sunshine, Fulin, Fuyuan, Shangri-la, Hotel Oriental Regent, New Capital, Shenzhen Bay, Gelan Yuntian, Pavilion Hotel, Kempinski, Crown Plaza, etc. Venice Hotel located in the Overseas Chinese City is the first holiday hotel with water as the theme.
