SZ airport opens check-in counter in Dongguan

SHENZHEN airport opened a new check-in counter in Dongguang on Tuesday to serve people in the area traveling via Shenzhen.

This is the second counter the airport has opened in Dongguang, and the 17th of its kind Shenzhen airport has opened in Pearl River Delta cities.

After check-in, travelers can take a shuttle bus from the counter to Shenzhen airport to board their plane. Travel time to the airport is 30 minutes. The shuttle operates 14 buses a day at one-hour intervals, said Wang Shangwu, manager of the waiting hall.

The first shuttle bus will depart for Shenzhen airport at 6:50 a.m. and the last at 7:30 p.m.

Travelers who have checked in at the counter can have their luggage sent through a special VIP lane at the airport, saving them time.

The operator of the check-in counter also offers online and telephone booking services, according to a report by the Shenzhen Special Zone Daily on Wednesday.

According to President Huang Chuanqi of the airport company, more than 1 million travelers used the airport’s waiting hall services at Huizhou, Dongguan, Zhongshan, Zhuhai, Macao and Hong Kong in 2008, a figure expected to increase to 1.5 million this year.
