200 migrant workers start college study

A TOTAL of 200 migrant workers had gained admission to top universities in the country, supported by the city government, the Shenzhen Federation of Trade Unions said Saturday.

They will continue their studies at the city’s migrant school, and the federation will invite teachers from Tianjin University, Sichuan University and Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics to teach courses in business administration, computer sciences, logistics and financial management, Li Shaomei, vice chairman of the federation, said at an opening ceremony Saturday.

The program is part of a government campaign to provide 150 million yuan (US$22 million) over three years to train migrant workers suffering financial difficulties.
