July 15, in 5301 Area of Metro Line 5, one more shield started to work at the interval between Bao’an Stop and Fanshenlu Stop. Two shields have been put into use not long before on this construction site. In addition that two shields has been installed, there will be altogether 5 shields working at the same time, which marks a new upsurge in the construction of Shenzhen metro lines.
There are four stops and four intervals in all in 5301 Area. Among them, two stops have already topped off and the other two stops and two of the intervals are going to be finished soon. So far, the overall development of 5301 Area takes the lead in the construction of the whole Line 5. The person in charge of 5301 Area says, intervals’ construction with the help of shields will be the focal point in the construction of next period, with eight shields working at all the four intervals of 5035 meters. It was originally designed that only three shields worked in this area. In order to speed up the construction progress, Construction Team One of Chinese Railway spent nearly 300 million RMB buying or renting more shields which will soon appear on the sites. It is reported that Construction Team One of Chinese Railway also takes a large amount of work of non-BT projects, thus the number of the shields has reached 11,and it is estimated up to 15, which makes Construction Team One the number one in using shields on the construction sites of all the Shenzhen metro lines.
