Competitors Look to the Sky

The official archery practice and equipment control was held yesterday at the Military Academy.

At the competition that starts today, boys and girls coming from forty-one country will compete in Olympic and compound disciplines in singles, teams and mixed events.

Favourites are the guests from the Far East – first of all Koreans and than Chinese and Japanese. The attention will be focused on the last year’s Olympic gold winner, Ukrainian Viktor Ruban. The feeling of elegance that this sport brings along could be spoiled by the rain, which could make the competition conditions even more difficult, since it takes place on grass.

Archers had slight problems on the practice because the ground did not dry out completely after the rain that was falling early in the morning. Nevertheless, everyone was in great mood and had their five minutes of glory. As soon as the arrow was put in the bow, faces get focused and smiles go off.
