In honor of delegations of Australia, Canada and Great Britain, a welcome ceremony was held today in University Village. Universiade Belgrade 2009 representatives, Valentina Boskovic and Ranko Tepavcevic welcomed them to Belgrade.
Valentina Boskovic, who is hosting welcome ceremonies, expressed her delight that Belgrade is this year’s host of the world biggest sports event ever to be held in Serbia and that it will entertain athletes from more than 100 countries. Ranko Tepavcevic addressed the guests by saying that the most important thing for the Universiade organizers was to make their guests’ stay in Serbia as memorable as possible.
After the flags of the three countries were raised and the anthem of the Universiade was played, Ranko Terpavcevic presented representatives of Australia, Canada and Great Britain with modest presents.
