At Shenzhen University hundreds of students gathered at the square and voiced their resolve to do their bit for the event after Shenzhen secured the Universiade bid. “2011 I promise I will spare no effort and render my service to the Universiade” swore the student volunteers dressed in red vests with strong determination and utmost passion.
“The Unviersiade is now a major concern for students in Shenzhen University” said Dai Zhidan a junior college student at the School of Foreign Languages. “The students’ union is considering listing the Universiade issues a topic in our routine meeting. We will discuss topics like what we can do for the event and if there is any suggestion we can offer to make the event better.”
Many Shenzhen University students regard witnessing Shenzhen’s success in becoming the host city of the 2011 Universiade as a major event in their college life. Though many of them will have graduated by 2011 they have expressed their willingness to do whatever they can to make the Universiade successful.(宋莹雯译)
